What is Morpheus8 by InMode?
Morpheus8 by InMode is a fractional skin and body remodeling treatment by Inmode, combining microneedling with radio frequency. Microneedles target both the epidermis and dermis layers of the skin while delivering radiofrequency energy triggering the body’s natural healing response to promote the production of collagen and elastin. The energy and depth each pulse is delivered will vary based on areas to be treated, skin type and concerns. Because of this risk certain skin types and clients may not be ideal candidates for any device delivering RF microneedling.
What conditions can Morpheus8 address?
A few of the conditions that are ideal for this form of RF microneedling include:
- Scars (i.e., from past acne outbreaks and surgery)

- Leathery texture
- Uneven tone

Patients with severe active acne are not candidates for treatment. The process can spread bacteria that produce further outbreaks.
What can I expect during my Morpheus8 treatment?
A topical numbing cream will be applied by your provider for approximately 45-60 minutes. Additionally, for your comfort Pro-Nox Nitrous Oxide may be recommended. After the numbing cream is removed and the area to be treated thoroughly cleaned the Morpheus8 handpiece will be glided across the treatment area. You may feel mild to moderate discomfort, pressure and heat as the applicator delivers RF energy. Due to the design of the Morpheus8 technology, treatment can take 15 to 60 minutes (depending on the size of the area to be treated).
What can I expect after my Morpheus8 treatment?
Patients are often able to return to work or other everyday activities directly after treatment. However, some patients may want to postpone social events for a few days, due to having some minor side effects like redness, swelling, or bruising in the treatment area.
The redness and swelling immediately following treatment typically resolve in around one to three days. Itching, dryness or crusting of the skin may develop around day 3 following the procedure. It is important to not scratch or pick at any scabs as this may result in scarring. One Week Prior to Treatment
Stop taking NSAID medicines such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen, and Naproxen since they interfere with normal blood clotting. Check medication labels for the active ingredient.
You may take Acetaminophen (Tylenol) as needed for pain not to exceed 3000 mg a day.
Three Days Prior to Treatment:
- Discontinue any irritant type topical products or treatments Products such as Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula), scrubs or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.
- Treatments such as microdermabrasion and laser
- No prolonged sun exposure, to the area being treated
- A treatment will not be administered on sunburned skin
Day of Treatment:
- Shower as usual
- Do not apply any lotion, powder, oils or other products to treatment areas
If face/neck being treated - Cleanse your face/neck and do not apply makeup
- If you have long hair bring a hair band to pull it back

What to Avoid:
To ensure the proper healing environment, be certain to observe the following:
- For at least 48 hours post treatment, do NOT use any Alpha Hydroxy Acids, Beta Hydroxy Acid, Retinol (Vitamin A), Vitamin C (in a low pH formula) or anything perceived as ‘active’ skincare.
- Avoid intentional and direct sunlight for at least 24 hours. No tanning beds.
- Do not go swimming for at least 24 hours post-treatment.
- No exercising or strenuous activity for the first 24 hours post-treatment. Sweating and gym environments are harmful, rife with bacteria, and may cause adverse reactions.
When can I see results and how long does Morpheus8 last?
For best results we recommend a series of three treatments spaced about four to six weeks apart to get the results that you desire. Since the system triggers beneficial processes like collagen and elastin production deep within the skin, it can take three months following your final session to see full results. We promise it’s worth it!
Patients often see a noticeable improvement to lines and scars within a few days, with improved skin tightness and contouring revealing itself around 30 days post-procedure. Results typically last one year. For long-lasting results we recommend annual touch-ups.
